Intern - Product Owner

WealthOS is a cloud-native wealth management technology company building modern, API-first infrastructure for digital investments, pensions, and savings products. As a recently acquired, fast-growing scale-up, we are an experienced, close-knit team working across the UK and Sri Lanka, always ready to support and learn from each other.

• Shadow an experienced Senior PO or PO, getting valuable hands-on experience in how to take a feature from concept to delivery. From immersing yourself in deeply understanding a feature to create all the artefacts required to successfully communicate with the engineering team and ensuring the release of high-quality software, you will learn to support the full chain of activities.
• Join the Product team to flesh out features of a feature family, learning and using various methodologies such as documenting feature themes, drawing business process flows, writing user stories, etc. We use Lucid Charts for diagramming, Confluence for full feature write-ups and Jira for story writing. Note that these tools are not set in stone and will evolve over time.
• Experience working in a scrum environment with our world-class development and test team, as you collectively design, develop and release features.
• Develop, enhance and improve feature guides for our customers.
• Carry out smoke testing for new and existing features to ensure our front ends are meeting our standards and clients expectations.
• Assist product owners to document and maintain general guidelines, templates and feature guides.
• Carry out discovery assignments and analytical tasks under the guidance of the product team. Work with the development and QA teams to execute tasks.
• Upgrade your skill set by learning about AWS, serverless technology, fundamental cloud principles, and the core principles of the financial market.

• You are naturally numerical and analytical, and this should be evident in your degree, course of study, or previous work experience.
• You have strong written and vocal English skills or are willing to improve these skills with our support. You will work with many stakeholders outside of Sri Lanka; communication is key.
• Experience in Agile development is a plus, as well as the right attitude and a willingness to pick things up quickly and run with them.
• You have a collaborative, positive attitude. We are a close-knit team looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
• Bonus skill - You have a technical, mathematical and/or financial background.
